A National Retreat titled Youth: Kal Ka Shilpkar was organized by the Youth Wing of the Brahma Kumaris from 20th to 24th July 2018 at Manmohinivan Complex, Shantivan, Abu Road, Rajasthan.
The brief summary and outcome of each sessions of the retreat were:
- Creating a vision for tomorrow: The participants created their vision for the self and society. They had to find the purpose of their life. Awareness was brought through workshop, session, discussion that they are the creators of their own life. The session guided youth to bring clarity in the aim & object of their life and also to identify their potential.
- Acquiring skills and tools: After discussing about which skills and tools are required to achieve their goal, they had to identify the ways and methods to acquire those skills and tools. They discovered skills to be values and tools to be powers and Meditation was the key to achieve them.
- Organizing the Self: During this session, the youth made a practical action plan on how one can acquire values and powers according to their vision. Do’s and Don’ts to follow. How to be consistent and not to get disheartened?
- Harmonizing the Hammers: In order to achieve one’s vision, one will have to face various challenges, circumstances, hurdles therefore it is essential to understand them. This was the purpose of this session. The participants identified their challenges and realized plan on how to have harmony with our hammers. They realized the idol can’t be shaped until it is hammered, likewise to achieve one’s vision, one has to face various hurdles. The participants also learnt about complain thinking and solution thinking, which was the important help tool for facing challenges.
Other important activities include Hap-café on “Wish, Wisdom, Worship”, Practical Meditation, Rajyoga Shivir etc. More than 225 participants from all over India participated in this retreat. The Youth Wing Committee members had put all their effort in making this retreat successful. Participants departed with new life horizons with them.
