Cultivating Resilience – A Spiritual Skill for Today’s Youth
The Youth Wing of the Brahma Kumaris is proud to organize an awareness campaign focusing on the development of spiritual skills among youth, in celebration of World Youth Skills Day on 15th July. This year, we have chosen the theme of “Resilience”, recognizing its vital role in navigating the complexities of modern youth life.
Today’s youth often encounter setbacks in the form of failure, rejection, health challenges, lack of family support, or unequal educational opportunities. In such times, resilience becomes not just a helpful trait but a spiritual necessity — enabling one to stand strong, adapt, and grow through adversity.
Inspiring examples like cricketer Rishabh Pant and mountaineer Arunima Sinha remind us how resilience can transform challenges into achievements. Both individuals exemplify courage, optimism, and inner strength in the face of life-altering hardships.
Resilient behaviour involves:
- Recognizing and celebrating one’s strengths,
- Grabbing opportunities with courage,
- Persevering despite obstacles, and
- Remaining committed to positive outcomes.
On this occasion, I invite every young individual to identify one spiritual skill—be it patience, determination, self-respect, or inner peace—and consciously nurture it in daily life. Let this World Youth Skills Day be a turning point toward building inner strength and unwavering resilience.
With warm wishes and spiritual enthusiasm
